89 460ci questions

Hello I have been searching for the answer on here but not been able to find the exact answer. so my question is on a 89 f250 with a 460ci auto 4x4 If I was going to replace the transmission with a zf5 will I need to change computer/wiring for it. I am not sure if the truck had a c6 or e4od originally because I am putting the 89 efi 460 into my 83 and the donor truck had the trans missing already. I guess what I am asking is if it was a c6 can I swap to manual trans without having to change the computer since the c6 is not computer controlled? or does that matter.

89 460 c6 OR e4OD?
IF c6, can zf5 be used without problems?

look at the original donor truck if you can. look at the gear indicator, if it's an E4OD it should have the D inside a circle a C6 the D will just be there not circled.

There are other ways if you have the actual vehicle but thats one easy one.
