I think part of the different mileage reports is when you reset it. I always reset mine when I fill up, before I leave the pump, so my averages include tugging a trailer into traffic and getting to 70 mph on an interstate on ramp.

If unloaded, same thing, average includes the initial stop and go in town.

I think some folks reset it after they are already rolling, which is deceptive if we are not clear on how we are doing it.

I had this problem also and found that I had a caliper sticking on the front left side. I don't know what was going on exactly because I took the pads off and checked it out put new pads on and now everything is fine. Nothing looked wrong but I had allot of brake dust and heat on one rim and not the others. The truck also would pull hard to one side when braking some times.
32,000 miles F350 extended cab long box single rear wheel.

Flash brought my MPG down some 2-3 give or take. YES YES YES it is because of more regens IMO

But I did get a 22mpg Hwy trip last week. 1st time I've seen that since the update. Maybe I got some good fuel...???? LOL

Towing the exact same trip I got 15.

Still not bad for a truck this size and all this power. Still very happy!

You put the mirrors in all the way, or fold the mirrors in while going down the road? Folding the mirrors in going down the road is probably illegal in most states......I can see it now...no fold in mirror option with speeds above 10 mph. I do honestly run the mirrors in the all the way, and put them out when navigating turns and what not....I know running them out creates more drag, did the experiment in my old truck...guess I've never thought about folding them in while traveling....

This is an important point for more realistic measurement of fuel mileage. My trip B is never reset. Both my trip A and my average fuel mileage (what I have as my main run page on the dashboard display) are reset AT THE PUMP (if I am tracking tank average on trip A, if not just the average fuel mileage screen is reset if I have trip A set to record a trip rather than tank).

I do fill up in the big rig lanes and that gets to be an irritation after work some times. The general courtesy is to fill up and pull forward so who ever is behind you can get the pump running. I like to sit and record my numbers before I start the truck so when I have to move the truck I can't get my numbers recorded until after I move up and park It probably doesn't throw my numbers off too much, but I like to be as precise as I can.

To that point, if you reset after you're rolling you are removing the fuel burned in accelerating up to speed from your average - and that can be a significant factor (think pulling a lot of weight here).

I do the exact same process. Trip B never gets reset and trip one and the average fuel mileage get reset at the pump. I also use a site called Fuelly to record each fill up. I fill out the few parameters on my iPhone while I am fueling and then add the gallons to the programs and submit.

My mileage has been fairly consistent since I purchased it in April '11. I can tell when I get lower quality fuel. I also noticed when we switched from Winter to Summer blend. I get 17 to 19 driving in the burbs and 19 to 22 on the highway. I am a very conservative driver which helps with the mileage. I also use Powerservice Diesel Kleen white bottle with every fill up.

Common behavior for me is to reset mileage screen in the morning after I fill up the tank. Then I drive as far as I need to go which may require 6 or 8 tanks of fuel. I typically only reset the mileage screen once every 1000 miles or so. This week will be 1400 miles with my trailer, when I unhook from the trailer, I reset the mileage thing.

Trip A is my weekly mile tracker
Trip B is my monthly total.

They are all business miles, trip meters help me play with cost analysis and billing.

So, when I say I averaged 12.3 mpg today, that includes 2.5 tanks of fuel and about 640 miles. Towing of course. I'm sure unloaded would have been in the 17-18 range.
