Ok so since im redoing my truck now, i dont want to go back later and screw something up. Does anyone know of a 5th wheel/ gooseneck kit that i can have installed in my 1974 F250 4X4? I want the holes when im not towing anything to lay flat with the bed so i can slide stuff in over it. (kinda like the factory kit on the new 2011 Super Duty)
X2 on the B&W my uncle bought one for a 02 superduty and narrowed it to fit his 81 k30 and with its square ball shaft you can get 5th wheel that locks in and can be removed in 30-40 seconds
B&W makes a kit specifically for the 34" frame rails. Ford used the 34" clear into the 90's on their cab & chassis trucks. Best part, no cutting!! just a couple of holes drilled in the side of the frame. The side plates then bolt to the frame, and the top strap bolts to them. They bed winds up with a circular hole for the "Turn over Ball", and two safety chain straps. I love this hitch, and have one in all of my trucks!

Are you using the 1980-1996 kit from B&W? I have a '77 F-150 and B&W told me in a E-mail that I would need to order a ford center section and fab my own sides. I didn't find any dimensions listed on their website either. I'm guessing your using the 3/4 ton with overload springs. I'm trying to order the one you've used, and order right the first time. Thanks!
ya know, I don't remember which one it is. I got the last one (the one for Frank's predecessor ) from a JY off of a 90's cab & chassis F450. Frank came with a flip a ball, so I kept it, and gave the B&W to a friend
