First , I'm not a Mecanic so not much knowledge for me .
I was about to change my front wheels bearing .
My Bronk was born on auto hubs , and my question is
Can I change it to manual , and wath about the automatic button on the dashboard ? ...
I am just looking for a "roundtuitt" for time to replace my autos with either Warn premium or MileMarker. I don't think anyone here prefers auto hubs.
Auto hubs have the advantage of engagement without getting out of the seat. That is it.
Manuals are sure to engage, more reliable, allow you to put in 4Lo without fronts engaged to back trailers in tight places. Keep front end parts lubed without getting off road and you can engage them after you need them rather than before.
The buttons on the dash do not control the hubs.
If you are mechanically challenged get help on this project and be sure to keep parts in sequence and turned correctly.
Look it up on YouTube. There are a ton of videos that show you how to swap your hubs to manual. It's actually fairly easy. I did mine earlier this year, and went with Mile Markers. Get yourself a Ford spindle nut socket at the parts store, and have a 1/2 drive torque wrench handy. Other than that, your tool pouch will have everything else you'll need.
If I remember right, there are two types of auto hubs. One has three screws holding the cap on and and usually require a special socket to remove the spindle nut allthough I've always been able to remove them without one by other means. The three screw hub also requires the conversion kit that contains differant spindle nuts and washer. The other auto hub has 5 screws holding the cap on and already have the correct spindle nuts and is a straight across swap, don't have to mess with the spindle nuts unless the wheel bearings need adjustment. Hardest part for me has always been that flippen wire snap ring, once thats out of the was its quite easy.
And I second that recomendation on getting the spindle nut socket if your going to swap to manuals or adjust the wheel bearing, that outer nut gets tourqed to 250 foot pounds or something like that. Be tough to do without that socket.

After removing the "Flippen Wire" grind the ends off at 45 degree angle. That way it's eazier to remove the next time. Just make sure the points are to the center. If you grind it the other way, youll never get it off. LOL

Need your help again ... I really cant go any further .
I got a two pieces disc break and dont have any idea about taking it off !
It seems that every thing is jamed in rust .
Do I have to take out the hub first ? and , ... if so , How ?
Here some pics ,
I dont have a lot of cash , that why I 'm dong it my self
if you are just swapping hubs you don't have to worry with the brakes at all. on the how to remove this? Pinch those two pieces together with needle nose pliers while pulling outward
