Not sure where you have decided to mount it. I just have mine down by the brake controller with the velcro, just below the little cubby. From there, I just ran the cable back behind the brake controller and zip tied up near the OBD port.
I hope to mount it on the dash on the left side. I'm a real gauge watcher and need it so I can still watch it while still able to view the road. My wife took the GPS away from me and moved it to her side so I wouldn't be constantly glancing at it.
Maybe, just a thought here. Might need to make a little mod on the pillar. Run the wire down from and through there, like a person would with pillar gauges?
Check the Edge website and click on the (i) next to the Edge CTS for Ford. It shows how to run the cable from there.
Mine is mounted to the top of my rearview mirror with 3M 2x tape. The CAT5 runs up into the headboard and down behind the A-pillar then behind the dash to the OBD port. Obviously I added about 5' of CAT5 to it.
Thanks guys I have run the cable. The Edge installation instructions were very helpful. Your right about my wife she is always telling me to keep my eyes on the road. I will certainly post the difference between my Isspro gauges and the Scan Gauge once I get it going.
i mounted mine on top of the steering column and i love where it is.i can see everything except what gear im in.the cable was super easy to run that way too
I ran my ScanGauge cable under the steering column then down to the OBDII port. The gauge is mounted above my left knee on the panel just below the headlight switch.
Yes, but I had mine in the cubby for 4 months and I found I was
constantly looking down while driving. Now with it above the
mirror - I check it along with the mirror and now it's not a distraction.
It also comes with an extension cat-5 cable and all the Hw needed
I would recommend it.
