Exclamation Cylinder honing question

I've just got my motor back from the machine shop. I had it cleaned and magnafluxed and the block is good. When I got it home, I noticed a 1/4 long scratch in one of the cylinder walls, most likely from when I removed the pistons. My question is, if I hone the cylinders or have them honed, would I need to buy larger sized pistons? I've already paid to have the rebuild kit w/pistons ordered so I am kinda worried at this point. Thanks in advance!

It really depends on how deep that scratch is.

It isn't very deep, but can be felt with a fingernail. Would it be possible to just leave it be?

No. You don't want to leave it there because it could allow oil and/or fuel/air mixture to get past the piston rings.... Definately get it honed...tho if its that shallow, I personally doubt they'll have to overbore...... just my two cents... Get it honed and go from there. The shop should tell you if it will need an overbore
