To give you the hole story from the beginning.
Last week my bronco just stooped running with no codes.
Checked for spark and there was none, next I checked the tac to see if it was bouncing while I was cranking it over and there was none.
I did some research and figured out it was more than likely the pip sensor in the distributer. I changed it out with a rebuilt distributer from napa and it started right up, great problem fixed right. I pulled the spout and set the timing a 10 degs BTDC and it ran good till I plugged the spout back in.
Now I get a flux in timing from 25 degs to around 40 degs and when I try to drive it, it pings like hell. So now you know my problem, do I have a bad distributer from NAPA or is there something else wrong maybe a ICM?
Are you absolutely certain you got the new dizzy in correctly? If you miss TDC even by a tooth with the engine management system it will NEVER be right.
Timing should be set on a warm engine. To be sure the PCM "relearns" disconnect the battery for 15-30 minutes. When done drive it 20-30 minutes in all conditions to relearn.
