Hi guy's, I have a rattling sound coming from somewhere. I only hear it when my passenger side window is down and I'm driving next to a wall, curb, or another car since the sound bounces back through the window. I've heard other superduty owners have had this problem. Please help, it drives me crazy!
My truck has many sounds. Don't know about the one you have. Check the metal close out plate between the transmisssion and engine. You can bend it away from the transmission slightly, or silicone them together. Since your truck is a 4x4 also check the heat shields on your exhaust system. You can use a hose clamp around them to keep them from vibrating, or do what I did and throw them in the trash.
Oh I should add that the speed of the rattle is proportionate to the speed at which I am traveling. Faster=faster rattle and slower=slower rattle. I don't know if it is related but my right side front hub is much harder to turn than the other. Thanks guys.
