Noise
Here's one for all you experts with lots of experience. I have a 2003 Supercrew 5.4 4x4. It has a trailer brake. While driving, I get a high pitched whine (almost identical to the sound a wine glass makes when you wet your finger and rub the rim) that occurs for 1 to 4 seconds and then stops. It doesn't seem to be related to speed, temperture, throttle position, A/C blower speed, radio operation, or anything else I have thought of. It is intermittent and random. I mention the trailer brake because that possibility interests me with respect to the master cylinder and/or ABS module.?! It sounds like it is coming from the left side of the dash. There were a couple of times that it did it just after I shut the truck off. Hasn't done that again at shutoff, but began doing while driving? Any one out there heard of this?
