During a long acceleration the AC vents turn off and the air blows out of the floor and defrost vents. When I stop accelerating and come to a steady speed if switches back to the vents where it should be. Where do I start and how much to fix it?
Sounds like a vacuum leak some where, the most common is the white plastic vacuum line that goes over the top of the heater/AC box under the hood to the actuator behind the passenger side hood hinge.. (Gets brittle and breaks)
If your vacuum reservoir is metal check the bottom of it for rust holes.
If it's very long acceleration with a load like a trailer going up a long grade there isn't much you can do about it. The reservoir just holds so much vacuum.....
