CAI and Catback System Complete

I finally got the go ahead from the wife a few weeks ago to get her some more power out of her 2010 Expedition. I picked up a Spectre CAI and a Gibson cat back Exhaust system off AutoAnything for a reasonable price. I put the CAI on last weekend and it was a little noisy in the cab and took some getting used to, although I did notice a little bit of an MPG gain over the week (looking at the lieometer she gained 3 tenths on average over 500 miles). Today it was time for the Gibson exhaust, you definitely need to be patient and get that rig in the air to maneuver the tail pipe over the rear end, if you doing it in the driveway on jack stands you will have to have the passengers side as far forward on the frame as you can (and maintain the balance). I also had to take down the rear anti-sway bar to allow the new pipe to clear. after that it was a pretty easy install and wholly crap was it worth it. The intake isn't noisy any more (I wonder how much back pressure the stock exhaust was creating) and it sounds like a truck now. and the wife is happy you can hardly tell the difference in the cab until you really get on it. all in all a good upgrade I can't wait to see what the MPG's are now.

Sounds good. Thanks for being honest about the mpg gains. I see so many people post " put on a K and N filter, now getting 5mpg more!".

Spectre Cold Air Intake

I like that this kit replaces everything up to the throttle body unlike the K&N kit so it looks allot cleaner and has unrestricted air flow

Chrome tip on Gibson exhaust kit (yep its already got bug guts)

The muffler is about half the size of stock

easy to bolt everything together and hangs on stock mounts

Fitting this baby over the rear axle is a bear

I had to take down the rear stabilizer bar to allow enough clearance to get the exhaust pipe finagled in

I took this to show were I had the passenger side jack stand to allow me to get the rear pipe over the axle Finger prints on the frame mark the spot.
