I had the cel and had limited throttle response. I stuck my foot way off in it, and it cought and drove normally. When light came on again, I did the same thing. Might try it.

For those unfamiliar this is the pump for the DEF Fluid. I'm not 100% sure but I beleive there are 2 pumps involved in the DEF stream and I'm not sure which one they are replacing. I will find out and advise after changed. One pump is to pump the fluid back into the holding tank after key off and the other is to pump the fluid to the dispersal nozzle as needed. Again not 100% sure on this but I do remember something many months ago on the topic. Feel free to jump in with more info

They said not a common item to go and it certainly isnt on their "hit list".

They cleared the codes and CEL is now off. Truck performance is restored and I can now peel rubber in all 6 gears ..... just kidding

Oh yes, they are also replacing the football sized Ford Logo on the front grill as the plastic is peeling off.
On family vacation in July visited Kennedy Space Center, always love the Titan V rocket display, anyway I believe I saw a couple of those "reductdant pumps" mounted on each rocket motor...you may want to send your dealer parts department there

This isn't the same DEF system part that someone is waiting for because it is on backorder for several months, is it? I wish I could find the thread for that one. It had something to do with the DEF system. Was it the tank itself?

That was the tank that was on backorder for several months if I recall. Hoping this one doesnt drag on that long.

Brian - thanks for the suggestion and the locate of the reductdant pump. Unfortunately I would have to upgrade to the F650 to get the load capacity up to use a Titan V reductdant pump. Also I imagine I would have to increase the DEF tank size as it would be pumping far more than I am used to!

Got truck back after cel. Temp sensor in exhaust pipe had to be replaced. Dealer screwed around for two days before finally getting it fixed. Warrenty, but there is lots going on in this truck.

Received a call yesterday .... The dealer finally has the DEF reductdant pump in hand. That only took one week to locate and ship. Good thing it is still drivable during that period. Appointment to have it changed on Friday morning. I am hoping this will clear the CEL and it isn't the start of anything else.

Mine ended up being an exhaust temp sensor in the tailpipe. They kept the truck two days, was a warrenty item. All ok now, but wondering what is next?

I will reserve opinion until Friday, however, I have this nagging feeling it is the tank and the pickup tube and not the pump itself but who am I to question the gear heads. I also noticed, (unrelated) that I am getting some funny shifts happening lately. Wondering if it is because itis getting cooler now. Just wondering ..... Hmmmmmmm

While working out of town i had the cel come on for the first time (25000k) Took it in to a small dealer in outlook,sk. they sayed it was the def heater(code p20ba) but would not be able to get the parts for 2 weeks plus they said not worry just drive and get it fixed back home in calgary,ab. Took it in to my dealer at who said it was infact the heater and ordered the parts. in the mean time took my rv trailer back over the mountains to BC the mileage was terrible cost me twice as much as usual. took my truck back to the dealer tuesday and they replaced the whole tank assembly including the tank . Now truck runs like a dream again!!!!!! If it was just the tank heater why would the computer detune the engine???????????????

Ok another update. Went in for my scheduled appointment this morning to get the DEF fixed. Turns out the part is not in stock yet even though they called to say it was! Turns out the football sized Ford insignia for the front grill came in and they thought it was the pump assembly. Yes, the badge was peeling and had to be replaced so it was on the same order. Still no parts available. Nice. Still waiting. 2 weeks on Tuesday coming.

Also heard today that Ford is out of DEF fluid in Ontario!

Crowed ..... My CEL remains on and while not in a total limp mode it is power starved so I am not surprised at your poor milage. Glad to see you got yours fixed up.

Yipee! Took the truck in today and they changed out the reductant pump. NO MORE CEL! I was really tired of seeing that little light I have full power back.

Bad news is they now are going to change the solenoids on the tranny as part of the related TSB. Problem is the parts are ...... can we have a drum roll ......... 3 weeks away!

Guess I broke out the suds a little too soon. Not 30 minutes after driving the dreaded little amber light is back on. Back to the dealer tomorrow morning at 8. I am really starting to hate the color amber.
