I think the ride is better on my ford, but the handling was better with the dodge. I also know that dodges suspension components were supplied by aweful suppliers who made cheep parts. I am not ready to say ford does not have the better setup, because IMO it has to be better than dodges package, although the dodge will handle and make you think its a much smaller vehicle which is really nice.

Anyone experience what I'll call, sudden onset of strongarm steering? Is this what you are all referring to as bump steer? I got a heck of a jolt the other day when I hit a bridge on a curve with a bump and it literally felt like I lost my power steering for a second. Shook the crap out of me. I certainly have noticed the steering getting worse over the last year. I suspect a shock and steering damper upgrade are in my future.

Mine does it! I think the front springs are too light! Adding the front steering stabilizer shock I think would help. Dealer installed new shock and steering stabilizer and it did help a little. If you hit a harsh enough bump with one wheel in a turn it feels like the whole axle bounces out of control for a breif moment. This is the only complaint I have with the truck. Drove a Dmax for 6 yrs and I can say it handled the bumps better than this truck. As far as everything else it Ford blows chevy away!!!!!! I have a F250with 20 in factory tires. Next one will be a F350 with plow prep!! I like a more solid ride.

I thought that I had felt it in my truck but as I'm getting more miles on it, I'm not feeling it like I did before. I've hit some pretty good bumps, potholes, expansion joints, etc. and I'm not noticing the "Death Wobble" or what I'd call bumpsteer. Someone on one of the threads posted about the possible difference in the trucks with the snowplow prep. Mine has it but I'm not sure if that's the difference or not.

I'd like to get a camera outside the truck like Epic and 2000silverbullet have to watch it and see for myself.

Anyone order anything from this site? Really cheap prices, with a flat $20 shipping and handling fee...Almost seems to good to be true...$89 for dual steering stabilizer Rancho RS98510 same as Epic installed..., $21 for Rancho 5000 shocks (they only have rears), and $49 for Rancho 9000xl shocks (same thing only rears).

Technomotive: Discount Auto Technology - Search Results for "Rancho RS5042"

See what you guys think?

Bumpsteer is not what y'all are describing. It happens when your drag link and tracbar are at different angles. What is going on is when the axle is going up and down over bumps the drag link is actually losing or gaining length so that makes your wheel move from left to right. The best place to find bump steer is on a fast highway with one of those rolling bumps that gets your truck bouncing up and down. You will notice the wheel moves left and right as your truck suspension moves up and down.

What most of you here are talking about is the death wobble that is the actual movement of the wheels in the ball joints......

The two are totally different things. To cure bumpsteer you need to make your drag link and trac bar as parallel as possible. That's why on lift kits you have either a trac bar drop bracket or some way to drop your drag link.

To fix death wobble, or steering isolations, there are many possible problems. Tracbar bushings are wore, ball joints are wore, not enough caster in your alignment, loose front end components. A little death wobble is just part of the solid axle. I'm not saying the type of wobble I had is acceptable, but just a light shake when hitting that right bump is part of the experience. A dual steering stabilizer will help that, but if you have bad death wobble a steering stabilizer is only masking the problem.
