steering wander gone

well my steering and swaying issue is gone for the moment
what I ve done is new steering stabilizer\tighten steering box\and remove winter weight from bed of truck 600lbs.
now it goes nice+straight down the highway
but-
as soon as I put decent weight in the back or pull my new trailer
the problem is right back
I think the alignment goes outa whack in these conditions

i think tou are right you might try getting an align ment with the winter weight in , you might also try load levelers of some kind to keep your truck at the same level no matter what you are doing .the air systems seem to work the best at least up here . theyve come along way since they were first designed , good luck, bob

the front end raising and the rear end sagging do produce noticable caster changes in the front end.. you could either modify the springs for less sag, or align it under load as posted above.. the front end would have to raise to change caster, your probably just feeling the differnt ratio of wieght on the front end creating a differnt steering.

There have been a number of posts stating that the steering wander was cured by replacing the steering box under the warranty. Apparently some of the boxes were defective.

i used the same procedure for tightening the steering box as
u would perform on an older truck
I left about 3/4" slack in the wheel--its not as tight as a chevys
steering--but its better than the near 2" of slack I had b4
Can some 1 post the details of steering box under warranty?

Just got my 00 F350 4x4 ext. cab w/60K, back from the dealer. Had a slight wander since new but had gotten dangerous lately. They replaced the gear assembly and drag link assembly. Dealer said gear was worn and they don't adjust them. $1200 later truck steers like it should. Dealer laughed when I asked about warranty or TSB
