Need help!
How did you check for an exhaust restriction? Please be specific....
Is any expert around that can suggest something else. I really don't have a clue on where to look next. I can't believed this truck is missing so bad and I don't get any code.
I just put it on gear with the brake on ; hit the gas pedal and it start missing like is running on 3 cylinder. Same when I take it to the road. It 's undrivable.
Did you use a back pressure gauge? Did you remove the cats? Or did you just put your hand over the tailpipe and go "yep, there's exhaust coming out"?
-When did this truck start exhibiting this behavior?
I agree on the last 2 postings for backpressure and cylinder compression.
My '92, 300, had the same problem your's is having with "1" exception. It started after we got 22 inches of snow here and it had sat for 3 weeks not being driven. It started fine and when I would give it gas it would jerk, buck, sputter and literally act as if it was gonna puke all over the road. Well, as seeing nothing had changed before I had parked last, I managed to get it to the nearest road and keep working at it. I dumped in several ounces of MMO, well, more like 10 (which is A LOT!!) and filled the tank up with Shell 93 octane, about 6 gallon's worth and kept working on it. It would idle ok and as soon asI started to give it gas, it just did everything your's has done. After letting it run for a few hours, I shut it off. tried it again the next day. Wasn't as bad, but still was trying to puke all over the road. Let it run for another hour and a half. Shut it off. I did this for 2 days and somehow, it finally quit. I have no idea why it started, but being persistent cleared it up. This was my daily driver and I think that sitting for weeks on end without starting contributed to it. My money is bet on either bad gas or just having sit to long and the injectors are clogged and/or dirty.
It start to act like this about two weeks ago when I was on a stop sing and got on the gas to get on the main road quit, it felt like the tranny or rear end was falling apart; it won't go, Right after that it was doing it every time I got on the gas.
When I change the fuel filter And drain it I notice the gasoline was black like it was use to wash part. After read your post it just remember it and I believed that maybe some injectors are clogged.I will check on this and post the finding. Thanks
A. It looks like the # 1 cylinder is dead; no change when pull plug wire,(new plug). Change with another plug and no change. Unplug hardness from #1 cylinder injector and no change. Test the injector hardness with a test light and has power getting to the injector.
B. I hear this noise (like a spark noise) there is no sparks anywhere. I track it down to the coil frame with the Stethoscope. When I put the Stethoscope on the coil frame is when I can hear the clicking more lauder and some on the sensor under the coil. Can the coil be bad or going bad?
Any ideas? For now I probably will check on that injector. If anybody
has any suggestions I will appreciated. Thanks
PS. Fuel issue fix; New pump and new sending unit.
