hi...

I know this is a 2yr old thread but I'm in the same "type" boat on a e-150 base travel van 5.4L 330cci.

I need to ac tap the alternator ( if possible, hoping the stock has the 3 "R" terminals to do so. ) A REPLACEMENT SUGGESTION IF NOT (THANKS)

My question is...
Using a seperate in-line voltage regulator to my battery bank since the primary vsr is "programmed to vehicle main electronics...
would that CUT the ac tap once the vsr determines aux battery bank is completely charged? My purpose is to directly attach to ac taps THIS:
Amazon Amazon
stripping the ac plug out of battery charger and connecting directly to back of alternator. placing inline vsr above between alternator (2ns thought add-on vsr would not be needed with the linked auto battery charger!!!

TO CHARGE THIS:
Amazon Amazon
AND THIS:
Amazon Amazon
WITHOUT ANY HASSLE OR MAINTANENCE WORRIES...

IS MY LOGIC CORRECT???
OR
Could I also send a lead to the vsr pin connector to "force" vsr to send additional voltage associated with ac tap terminals? Would that screw up the VSR for main engine components?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL (OR ANY) REPLIES AND COMMENTS!!!

Chances are not too many here or in the Electrical & Wiring sub-forum of FTE have experience with your desired system. Find a site called sportsmobile.com, sign up and find their Electrical sub-forum.

That site is for and about mini-RV's most of the Ford E-Series type. A few very sophisticated set-ups have been discussed and planned, often times components recommended that suit the need or purpose and are high quality. Read that "high quality" as NOT cheap.

In addition to JWA's suggestion, you may find some useful info at the DIY Solar Power forum ran by Will Prouse..
JWA is correct that it can get pricey for the good stuff.

Reply: this is rv travel van (ford e150 INCOMPLETE frame) but was purchased as SHERROD travel van... The extra cabin area lightning, tv, 2nd cabin stereo, video game console etc, so it already has the extra power stock alternator.
That's why the question was posted here in your thread. Thanks for reply... Will look elsewhere.
