I have a 99 f350 4x4 cc srw lb. It has a front leveling spring and factory 4 inch blocks in the rear. My question is, if I go with a 4 inch lift, will I only notice about 2 more inches in the front and none in the back? I am not sure of how the rear lift is achieved if I go with a kit with the rear blocks.
so in essence I will only see a two inch difference for 800-1000 bucks if I go with a 4 inch kit. that is kinda discouraging. I do like the stance of a 4 inch lift but that seems like a lot of money for what I would be getting.
thanks for the reply. at this point I may look at spending the money in other areas.
well, i got the tuner on order today. back to the suspension, the reason i was looking into the lift kit was because my truck is sagging on the drivers side about 1.5 to 1.75 inches from the passenger side. i replaced the drivers side spring with a newer one and it made no difference in the sagging. what other issues could cause the truck to lean. i have checked the back and there is about .5 inch difference between the left and right. i want my truck to set level, what other things should i look at? i have thought about swapping the leaf packs on the rear from one side to the other, do you think that might help?
Act's like a crack in the leaf springs, even the rear, check all leaves for cracks, Pro Comp, Skyjacker, Donahue, etc, make lift's that replace all four spring's. That's what i would do.
I'm in the same boat. I'm looking for something slightly more than my 2.5" TC level kit. A 6" kit is too big, as I don't wanna change tire size. 4~5" kits are fewer between. I've been looking at the RC 2.5" shackle kit to add to my level kit. Then a simple block, shock, U-bolt change in the rear.
well, i have checked for broken / cracked springs and looked at the body mounts. no luck! the body mounts look the same from side to side and the springs show no signs of being cracked....
already done that too! the one on the drivers side is 1 1/4 inch lower than the passenger side and the rear is only about 1/4 difference on the two sides. i have also checked all the body lines and gaps for the doors, hood and where the bed is mounted and everything is consistent there to. i think i may just end up swapping everything from left to right on both ends and see if the problem shifts sides. alot of work i know but it would give me some answers.
My 2000 looks like it uses a different spring for right and left you may have your drivers spring on the passenger side. My truck sits perfectly level but if u look at the spring pirches on the axle the drivers side looks higher than the passenger because of the differential. I would measure the drivers side from the top of the axle tube to the top of the spring pirch. Then go to the passenger side and do the same. I am going to measure mine when I get to my truck. I have noticed the difference while looking at the front of my truck but never actually measured it. If it's not different then it sure is an optical illusion. This may be why u have the height difference. Just my observation hope it helps
