Got a SCT Livewire from a buddy last week and have been running it for the past week. HOLY MOLY!!!! This thing is awesome!!!! So far I have run the street tune and the performance tune. They are just the canned tunes but my truck runs soo nice that I don't like running it stock. I can't wait to run the towing tune andtry out the torque converter lockup and the jake brake. Just wanted to share my excitement!!!
Yah, that is what my buddy I bought it from tells me and what I have read on here. I am still trying out what I have then we will go from there. After I have tried out the canned tunes I will know what I want different. So far the only weird thing is my back up sensors don't work right with any of the tunes I have tried. They work when it is on the stock setting. Im still trying to figure out how to download the updates from the SCT website. I have them on my laptop but can't figure out what file to use to open it. I have Windows 7. I sent an e-mail to SCT. Just waiting to hear back so I can save my stock tune on my laptop just in case and maybe the update will fix my back up sensor problem.
Call the guys at SCT. They will walk you through the process of update over the phone. At least they did with mine when I bought it new and under warranty... There was a problem with the computer I was using so I had to go a different route to install the updates. I aint no computer guru so it was very helpful to be walked through the process.
I second Matt's tunes. Matt claims that the tunes I bought are safe for non-studded trucks. Man, that is hard to believe with all of the GO this thing has with the standard SRL tune. I can only imagine what it would be like with the ++ tune, for studded trucks. Sheesh!
Ok, if I don't get an email or call from SCT next week I'll call them. My truck is studded so I'm set for Matt's tunes. I had the studs put in last January when my oil cooler, egr cooler, and head gaskets went bad. I wanted to make sure it was ready for tunes later.
