Hey guys. I have a beautiful to me, 1973 Ford F600. Original paint. Old 330 industrial., with a 5 speed, and a 2 speed rear. It's an old roto rooter truck with a 1300 gallon water tank, and a rooter designed pump powered by an IH six cylinder mounted back by the hose drums. I hauled 1100 gallons out to my ranch(that's it's new job), and pumped the water in to my holding tank. Didn't even sag the springs. I'm impressed.
The road is a bit harsh though, and the little beauty needs attention(replacement) of the drivers tie rod end. Napa says there are 3 different ones.Vehicle weight of 6000, 7000, and I think 9000 lbs.
My original registration says it's 6400 lbs. GVW is like 19,872(loaded, max.)
The reg says F60DVQ627xx. I'd like to have the right part when I go up next time. Any pointers on a part# for the TR end?Drivers side. I'd sure appreciate any input. Thanks in advance. Robert
Thanks for your response. Yes, I think that is the best way to go. I will remove the TR end next trip, and install the new one on my next time up there. That way, I'll be sure to get it right. The whole king/link suspension looks beefy under there, and the TR end looks to be industrial strength. That's good. I had to make a quick exit last trip to attend a Calfire water tender course in Redding. I'm a class A driver, and my boss needs me to have the cert. The end didn't pop out, but it has the looseness, I could feel it in the steering wheel, and when I push/pull on the end. It's a very BIG steering wheel. Love that old Ford truck. Still has the original owners manual in the glovey!
