Im trying to find a front tow hook for my 95' Bronco that will attach somewhere solid and flat and clear the bumper and not destroy my plastic under the bumper if i have to attach a strap. I've had no luck finding anyone that makes them so far, or coming up with a way to attach one solidly myself that comes down far enough to clear everything.
I just bought a pair of Explorer Pro Comp hooks from summit. I'm planning on making a spacer out of steel. I'm thinking about 1/2" thick to clear the bumper. You may need more. I plan on cutting hte plat longer than needed and drill 4 holes in it. The two in the center are for the tow hooks. Then two more on either side of the hooks for the spacer to frame interface. All four bolts are going in to the frame.
When I lifted mine I was left with two "factory" locations for tow/retrieval hooks on the front end of the frame. I removed the front sway bar. (Wasn't doing me any good and limited my articulation). I did, however, install the sway bar drop brackets and now have two mounts for hooks. They are back under the front just a bit but with the sway bar drop brackets for the 4" lift the hooks will clear the bumper and air dam no problem. They are about as close to the front of the truck that you can get without having to deal with that silly "accordian" section of the frame. Just a thought for those who may have done away with the front sway bar. Mine is a 92.
colibert enterprises out of salt lake city makes a
beautiful set of tow loops for 92 96 ford they bolt on over the accordian section of the frame and the loop protrudes from slots that are cut in the plastic valance panel , these are very well made heavy duty tow loops sort of looks like a newer f150/expedition style tow loop. sorry i dont have the phone number , call info or i believe they have a web page
just get a custom bumper made that will hold your new warn winch because you no thats going to be the next thing you slap on her then just weld the hooks to the back.
