These block drains yall mention. Where are they? Are they freeze plugs or threaded plugs. I need to do this coolant flush and draining the block sounds like the most efficient way.

They're threaded plugs in the block sort of in the same position you would see freeze plugs. The driver side is real easy to get to but the passenger side is tucked up by the starter.
i didnt pull my engine plugs, but am doing head gaskets now so will try it out.
i dont think its gonna be too much more productive...
i flushed the hell out of my truck when doing the oil cooler and egr delete.
theres only ONE thing i would do differently. well, maybe two...
keep the thermostat in and get the truck really warm or block the
radiator with cardboard. I couldnt get my truck hot enough during the
flushing and was rushing and think it would have been more productive
if i got it hotter...driving it hard without therm in 80* F for 45 mins didnt
get it hot enough btw.
I replaced my heater core also. only 75k miles. post flush. I could blow through
it but was restricted. heater didnt work..
sooo, i will also take radiator out this time for proper cleaning.
just something to think about if your only doing egr/oil coolers.
theres a little more to the cooling system and its easier all at once!
good luck 6.0 owners!
