Well I went and got exhaust done by my exhaust guy. Single in dual out super 44 2 1/2" to the dual 6" tips out the side. Still has the cat. It turned out okay I think kinda too quiet for me, though.
I am gonna put a video up when the lady can keep her damn camera charged, so maybe tomorrow.
Anyways, I was wondering has anyone tried a true dual setup and how did it sound vs a y piped exhaust, etc.
I know it's not a v8 but i want to get the least of the drony v8 mustang sound that I have right now lol.
I have true duels with no cats and glasspacks. Its loud but at low rpm it sounds funny almost tractor like. Once you get the rpm up to 3000 it starts to sound like a Lambo. I'm not sure how a Flowmaster would sound but it should have a deeper tone. Sound also depends on the engine. The 2v engine tends to sound better then the 3v. By the way mines a 03 2v.
I have yet to hear of a true dual system that sounded better than a 2 into 1... Different, but not better to my ears. Most sound too V-6ey to me. At high rpm (10K+), a V10 can sound REALLY nasty - even painful, but these particular V-10's can't do that.
Well I was thinking of either running true duals with just glasspacks but not if it sounds odd like the first reply said lol.
I wonder how just the original exhaust with just a glasspack would sound. I want something louder but i really want to find something that gets away from the Mustang or droney sound as much as possible. I personally like the lambo sound or ricer sound at higher rpms but its wayyy droney sounding at low rpms. Sounds awesome idling though.
Someone said on another forum that a glasspack with stock exhaust sounded pretty good. Mine had a hell of a drone with the straight tips on it so I cut them off and put turn downs on it. No more drone! I should do a youtube video but I won't be home for another 2 weeks.
