new wiring harness?

hey ya'all,

about a year ago i bought a 1996 ford f150 xl. It has a 4.9l in it with a 5 spd manual tranny. It also has a 6 inch lift sitting on pro comp 35"s. the thing is a beast but being a guy i want more torque to push the tires faster. i want to swap out the 300 for a 302. does anyone know if i can use the old wiring harness off the 4.9l for the new engine?

Save your money, a 302 wont be much if any better than the 300 (lot of work to gain 2 CID!)

I agree you will need ECM and wire harness. I have a 92 f150 6" suspension 4" body lift 35 12.50 15 tires and I have the 302. It does a fine job of turning the tires. Oh I also did a axle swap on it. Got the staight axles out of a 79 Bronco and installed them.

just keep the 300. at lower rpm, it has more torque than a 302
