When I start the Ex it fires right up and runs fine.
The ICP reads lots of pressure 800+ at idle,
the ICP % reads 21% @ idle when warm (25% when "cold")
So I suspect this indicates there really is oil pressure.
When I start driving (engine cold) after a few minutes the
oil pressure gauge drops to 0 - often even @ 1500 rpms
(check gage light glows red).
Once the EOT gets within a few degrees of 190* the light will go out. Once it goes out it stays out even at idle again
(once engine is up to temp).
I've also noticed once EOT gets to about 170* going downhill makes
the light go out - level or uphill the light comes back on.
All this with RPMs 1800-2000 @ 70MPH on the interstate.
By the way, the info available via an ODBII gauge (ie: SGII) is
just amazing - and thanks to everyone who posted all the Xgauge codes!
I found this post doing a search for oil pressure gauge. My Ex is doing something similar. Oil gauge drops to 0 and check gauges light comes on at stop light. As soon as I hit the throttle it returns to normal. Any ideas? The truck runs perfect....
