transmission compatability

Will a 4 speed manual trans out of an 87 f250 6.9 bolt up to a 94 7.3 idi?

You're dead on the money Joe! I have no prefrence for a T19 over a ZF5 but I'm wanting a complete donor truck to do the swap plus that way I'll have some other parts too if I need them some time or another. I'm having a hard time finding a truck with a ZF5 that is in my price range but I have found a 87 F250 with a good 6.9 that fits in my price range. I just wanted to make sure the T19 would work. I thought it would cause I saw a 94 IDI turbo once that had a 4 speed in it but I wanted to ask you guys anyway. I'm pretty sure I read that I will need a flywheel from a 93-94 turbo truck but what about the clutch and everything else, will they interchange?

you should be able to take everything from the 87 and move it over to the 94 id think..... the bell housing patterns should be the same but i don't think you can run the DMF from the ZF5 on the T19......

yup.you'll lower the resale value to almost free, and the fuel economy down the drain as well.but its possible.
cost of operation trumps initial cost.
of course if your just doing this for a yard/plow/fun off road play toy where fuel economy driving in OD wouldn't happen either way.then heck id even do that myself before i payed big bucks to have an E40D looked into,or a zf5 swap.

it sure would take a lot more than just a TPS out of range code to make me even think about all that work though even if i had the donor already lol.

I wouldn't give 10 cents for either of my e4od's! Just because of all the electrical crap that has to be working just right! It may just be a TPS problem but its a problem that I can't seem to get fixed.

did you make sure the plug was clean? if there is corrosion at this plug,or the plug at the brain for this pin, this could explain that.
the tps plug is easy to clean,as you know.but what about at the brain? that just takes a 10 mm socket.pull the plug and clean these terminals.it could be such an easy fix.start with the little things first and work your way up.this is how i try to deal with things.

your comparing apples to oranges Joe.
compare the same trans with the same gears AND tires.then you'll see the difference.
if you swapped in the zf5 or E40D into your truck, still test at 55 mph like your doing now, and made no other changes..........oh yes.you'd see it and be smiling.

250 are you talking about where the TPS plugs into the TCM? What about my TPS not being able to adjust to within range? I've put two new TPS in it and still no change.
