Welcome to the forum. There's a whole lot of knowledge here and a whole lot of humility as well. Not many questions would be considered "dumb" here.
Don't be intimidated, they are really not that hard to work on once you learn your way around them. And you can still work on it because there isn't a bunch of emissions crap in the way.
