i have a 1997 mazda b4000, 4x4, 5 speed.
im pretty sure my front brakes are not working. sometimes when i push the peddal it is realy spongey and if i push it a couple times it goes back to normal, but even when it feels normal i am not getting lots of brake power.
if i slam on the brakes they will not lock up and the truck doesnt lean forward like it normaly would on a hard stop.
should i try bleeding them? would the abs be have the brakes stuck off for some reason? anyone els had this problem? thanks.
Have you done anything to the front brakes recently or os this a problem that has developed gradually over time? Your guess about bleeding the brakes would be a good first step. Especially if you have done a lot of off-roading, either the calipers or the pistons are sticking, although, either of thos would result in a stiffer pedal.
Try bleeding the front brakes first and let us know what that does about your problem.
