I bought a 1993 4x4,and I need some advice on some problems.
First the battery light was always on. I looked under the dash and noticed that a gps system had been installed. I removed what I could and found that the system had been sliced in. Every since this had been removed battery light does not come on. But...
4x4 switch does not work, either high or low.
Cigerette lighter does not work.
Fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank when off, empty when running.
Back window wiper does not work.
ABS comes on sometimes.
If anyone can help me on one of these or steer me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
Well, I would suggest getting a service manual or two on your truck. The Chilton's manual and the Haynes manual combines would give you most of the information you would be looking for in way of wiring diagrams. That is my suggestion. Get the wiring diagrams and try to fix the wiring by following it along with the diagrams.
OK I just sold my lifted 92 for my supercrew so I think I can help , check out Jeff Singletons site its great explorer maintenance
look for transfer case there it should help, get the manual for sure it helps. Good luck

The fuel float has filled up with gas. The only way to replace the fuel float is to drop the tank and pull the sending unit out and replace the brass fuel float. make sure you have the fuel line disconnect tool. The fuel float only cost $5.00 from ford.
