I picked up a 2000 6.8L V-10 4X4 limited a few months ago. The original owner, a good friend of mine, sold it to me for 13K with 28K miles on it. I'm pretty satisfied with it other than the MPG but I knew that going in. What are some things that I could do to it to increase performance etc? Ive read some other posts about MPG and it seems a beast is a beast. I get about 11.5 city and 14 hwy right now. Any tricks, tips, or concerns I need to know about? Thanks for the help
Its in great condition. It still smells new inside. My friend originally bought it to pull a toy hauler/travel trailer but never bought the trailer. I had been bugging him to sell it to me the last couple of years and he finally caved in.
That is a very nice looking Ex. Don't concern your self about the mileage because what it costs you extra in gas mileage you will save on matianance just keep the overall cost in mind. On an Ex. the only way the mileage cost is really bad is city driving in stop and go traffic. I had a 79 GMC pick-up I drove for 21 years and it got about the same mileage on the highway with a 305 V8 as my Ex. does with a V-10, 12.5-14.5. The bad thing about an EX is if you are on empty and you put 20.00 worth of gas in it its still empty. Ha Ha. That huge 44 gallon tank. Seriously if an EX got 3-4 miles more miles to the gallon they would not even be considered a gas hog or at least thats how I justfiy driving mine.
