I'm just throwing the peels out anyway.
I might as well put them to work.
This is more as a preventive measure.
As long as I keep my dogs away from outsiders they stay flea free.
The problem is occasionally a visitor shows up at the fence and a flea can find its way into our "kingdom".
(From the way my dogs fuss you would think that the Barbarians were at the walls.)
Be sure to take pics of all the peelings on your lawn. You will be eating a crap load of Bananas depending on how large your yard is. 1 peel per 5-10 square ft.
place a tray of soapy water and a night light in the problem areas. my wifes dog is a indoor pet but has a big flea problem anyway. the tray of water will get some of them but this seems to be a bad summer for fleas anyway. good luck.
Let's see, Hummm;
4/5 strips of peel per banana.
Let's agree on 9sq' (3x3)
So we get 3 lineal Ft. per strip.
My frontage is 110'
I have a 80'driveway fence.
190' divided by 3 is 63.333333333...........>
So I need 63 strips.
Ok; That's 15 bananas.
That's just to cover a line 3 foot wide.
Fleas can jump farther than 3ft.
So I have to place another line along the fence line.
Another 15 bananas.
Now I have to buy flour and sugar.
Why?
I've have to get the wife to make banana bread.
Then I will sell the bread to the restaurants downtown.
Soon I will have to open a commercial bakery because of the demand for my banana bread.
Start up costs $!50,00.00.
Can't you just see it; 126 strips of banana peel rotting in the yard.
All because I wanted to save money on flea treatment.
And it only works if they eat the peel!

A night light plugged in to a wall outlet with a glue trap for mice under it works too.
I love banana bread, banana pudding, banana split, banana and peanut butter sandwich, banana cake, banana malt, banana ice cream, banana on a stick, just to name a few.
Looks like you have your future lined up with bananas.

My wife tells me that regular table salt is a great way of getting rid of fleas, too. Pour the salt all over the house in great quantities (I suppose it would work in the yard, too, and you wouldn't have to worry about vacuuming up the salt.). Apparently the salt sucks the moisture out of the fleas and you simply vacuum them up... and no need to eat or buy bunches of bananas, or bug bombs.
