I have a 94 Ranger 2.3L, 5-sp. I'm considering pushing some fuel injection cleaner through it. I've heard mixed reviews about fuel injection cleaners. What's your experience with them and which brand would you suggest?
I don't think it can hurt anything. I usually throw a bottle in once or twice a year. Most any brand will do. I've been using Valvoline FI cleaner, comes in a gold bottle.
Some people with a pinging problem have been reporting good results running Marvel Mystery Oil in the tank. Apparently, it cleans even more than the injectors and lines.........works on the cylinder heads and stuff. I might try MMO next time, even though I don't have the pinging problem.
