Diff gear change

I hope I didn't post this twice but when I got done it kicked me to the 6.0 instead of the 7.3 formium. I'm in norco,ca and need a good reliable shop that does gear changes. My son needs to go to 4.30 or 4.56 for his PSD. He tows a 40 foot weekend warrior custom he bought used for the right price. Thing is he didn't figure how heavy it was. He thinks around 16 to 18 thousand pounds. With his 3.73 it ain't doing the job it should. Riverside, Ontario or San Bernadino would be good. God bless and thanks for you Help. I don't think its to hard but I don't want to do my first one on his rig. Chet Oh its a 4x4.

I have used 4wheel parts and been very satisfied plus they will honor their warranty nationwide!

unless he has some big tires i think 4.30 or 4.11 be good an more and it will hurt the speed.

Wow Jim you're the first person I've ever heard of that actually had a good experience with them. I for one will NEVER again go to that place.

Chet- Good luck, maybe find a local driveline shop?

Bonanza, call "Baja" shop, in riverside..91/pierce, ask Jesse who he would recommend. With their line of work, i'm sure they know somebody, reputable.

if your talking about 4 wheel parts wholesalers ive bought parts there for 25 years with no problems they are hard to beat . never had them set up a ring and pinion though. i dont think they do that, they will sell the parts or a complete third member or axle assy.

Chet I very sorry to hear you had a bad experience there! A good friend of mine has been a store manager with them for years and has always worked to make his service departments top notch! In fact all the dealers in our area use them almost exclusively for lift instals and gear swaps for that reason, I hope you made you complaints known to the corporate headquarters ^so they could work to address them? Did you ever get a resolution to your problem? I only ask because the company seems to really care abought there reputation in my experience, and I'm just curious not schilling!

Yeah Wes there stores have service and installation centers, I've had lots of work done there, lifts, ring and pinions exhaust systems, ball joints and poly bushings their quotes were right in line and national warranty with 50 some stores plus a buddy that's store manager I cant go wrong!

If hes got 38s on his truck or plans to have them then 4:30 are what he needs. 40'' 4:56. But like Matt said if hes on stock tires 4:11s will be fine just kiss some mileage away when hes not towing

Guys thanks, He has 35's on his truck right now. Its the weight he's pulling in that 40 foot toy hauler. I have not had any problem with 4 wheel parts but my boy has and had to take his truck back twice for the same repair on a lift of his 94 ford. He thought about them but wanted to find a regular diff. shop so theres no whine of the gears. His truck is lifted to. He just did alot of engine work now has to take care of gears. 6.0l so we know how that goes. Chet
Oh and mileage non existent with that trailer.
