Just picked up 89 f250 LD

After getting fed up again with a dodge i bought last year i parked it out in the back yard and bought something i know will not break down all the time and wont break the bank when it does.

Mounted my warn and got the hood and fenders polished between rain yesterday, the whole truck is going to shine up nicely. There is a tiny bit of rust in the box, the cab and fenders are solid. Truck is from the okanagan so didnt have to deal with 20 years of salt and snow that we get up here.

Cleaned up the interior, the rubber floor is beat but everything else is in good shape. I think i have a black floor i can scavenge from one of my parts trucks to replace it.

It is the light duty with the semi floating 10.25 which i had never seen before, had me scratching my head for a bit over that. 300 I6 and the zf5 tranny 3:55's and traction lock rear, pretty nice combo for what i need. He tossed in the camperette and a spare set of tires on the deal too.

Just wanted to share my excitement about being back in an old ford again. thanks for lookin.

300-6 infront of a ZF5.... that theres a bullet proof combo

To bad it's a LD F250

Are you sure it is a ZF5 though? Alot of LD F250's had the Mazda tranny while others had ZF's.

Looks damn clean for 4x4! Love the interior!

Wow, that interior looks dang good, looks like all it needs is a floor mat or carpet to make it darn near perfect..

Door code W, and I crawled around underneath before I bought it

Oddly enough a buddy has an 89 250 hd with a 302 and the mazda trans. This is enough truck for my needs right now, it's actually the lightest duty truck I own. Its like a HD half ton.

I cant wait for a nice day so I can finish polishing and waxing the paint and pull the bench seat to steam clean it. I have a tan crewcab parts truck I may be able to swipe the flooring out of and keep it all the same colour inside, i'm really diggin the brown. Still undecided about installing my headache rack or visor off my old truck.

Thanks for the compliments. Someone really looked after this truck before me and I want to keep it up.

Good to hear you'll take good care of it!

Yeah it's like in the 80's, Chevy had the "heavy half" trucks.

Updated pic, went over it once with the polisher and one coat of wax, still have to do the roof and some of the passenger side but my pad was getting pretty gummed up from oxidation so i had to wash it out. Will finish it tonight and put on a couple more coats of wax and the paint will be done.
