What Joe said. You don't reflash to run any chip. If the pcm was reflashed for single shots you would of been alright without the chip if not the chip better be tuned for the single shots or it won't work either. Good luck, Chet

When I orderd the chip they asked what mods you have done and its like 4x4, exhaust, intake, studs, etc. by check marks then in drop boxes they ask what injectors i said stage two then ask for pump adrelinia. They never asked if it was for single shots. I definately have all the mods that are done on the chip. i just havent installed it. what beans told me and rosewood said that if i put this chip on the computer that was once chipped before with out it being reflashed to stock the truck wont run right because the slate isnt clean. like there is a residue on the computer meaning even though the chip is gone it still has it programmed in the computer. i havent reflashed my computer yet at the dealership because im afraid if i drive the truck its going to hurt it. i might sound like a prise but this truck cost me a lot and i want it to last for a very very long time. If i put the chip in and it doesnt clear up could i take it out. will it hurt the chip in any way.... thanks guys for helping me. first diesel pretty neverous.

Put the chip in , it should clear it up. If someone put in a SC 1705 that programs the chip other then stock it should of been returned to stock before they sold it cause the progarmer is usless now. The chip over rides the pcm. The other thing you can do is sent the pcm to the chip company and have them put in their stock tune for the single shots. Chet

If I understand you correctly, you would like to get the PCM flashed to stock? Jody, can do that, Riffraff Diesel: DP Tuner Customer Supplied PCM Performance Flash, But after these performance goodies you would want a modified stock program, one that is tuned for the single shot injectors.

Sounds like you have what you need. Install the chip and set it to the mildest tune and your engine should run much better. I think "stage 2" injectors means single shots in most circles so TDP probably provided the correct programming. I am not familiar with the TDP chip so beware the "stock" setting (if it has one) may not work properly. It would have to be a modified stock to work with the new sticks. You might want to call TDP to confirm but I think Joe is correct and you don't really need to have the PCM re-flashed if you have a custom chip ready to go.

That theory goes back along way to the old " chip stackers " who swore they got an increase in power, economy, price of Gold, ect... By adding a "flip chip" to a already proggrammed (ie. Flashed) PCM/IDM! That theory has been put to rest by education of the design of the PCM and the override a DP type chip does to the factory program! Go ahead and install the chip it will properly support the single shot injection cycle of the stage 2 injectors and allow you to have th real fun you've been waiting for!

^^^^This is kind of what I was getting at. I don't understand why if you had the tunes for the upgrades why you wouldn't install. It will overwrite the PCM anyway.

If your chip was properly programmed with the correct information it's "stock" will be an actual modified stock, basically just stock power but programmed to work with SS injectors.

This is likely the case, the chip WILL rewrite the PCM there is no need to return it to a "factory" stock condition before installing the chip.

I generally drive it like I stole it for 10 miles after an injector change, or any time drain the HPO system and that gets the frothy air completely out and everything back to normal but that always after a extended 30min idle.

Hey guys I went and got the gensyis today plugged it in and did a buzz test on it. And it tested all good. relieved i put the chip in and it ran awesome except for high idle. it sounded like it was missing and the rpms were at 1500 you think its just because of the air and oil still in the system also maybe that spring i took out of the fuel bowl thats right by the fuel heater? im going to put the spring back in tomorrow just because what you guys say about powerstrokehelp. Also theres a small leak where the drive gear bolt is is there a gasket i can get for it. I would put rtv around it and be done with it but dieselsite tech said not to put rtv on it because it could get in the oil and clug stuff up.... any thoughts. btw thanks so much for your guys help.

The spring that You took out, is it on the side of the fuel bowl close to the top? If so by all means put it back in. That is the fuel pressure regulator spring. Without that spring You are not getting the right amount of fuel pressure. You can shim that spring and get more pressure.

These Guys on here will not steer You wrong. They are the best group of people on the web. They all will not tell You to do something to Your truck that will hurt it. They keep You from doing that. Enjoy Your new to You Diesel. and welcome to FTE.
