yea took the snap ring out tryed for over a hour to wiggel it out said srewed it and got the jack out fo my bronco and came up with this i tore down my fron end to re pack the bearings after i was all said and done my wobbel still there urg
Jack it up and have someone spin the tires wile you watch them from the front, look for a wobble. Usually a shake you can feel at low speed is a seperated tire or bent wheel. Ive never seen a wheel bearing cause a vibration... noise, yes.
I did alignments for 25 years or so... its possible the alignment ruined a tire and its causiing a vibration but the alignment has to be all f'ed up to cause one. All you can adjust is toe in on those d60's without some BS kit. If the toe is way out and eating up your tires, rub your hand across the tread, from inside to out and feel for sharp edges on the tread blocks. If you feel them from the outside to the inside its toed out. If from inside out its toed in. Either way I doubt an alignment will fix your vibration. When you take it in be sure to tell them about the vibration, otherwise they will just pull it in set the toe in and park it.
Joe is this an all the time vibration? or is it speed dependent?
My dana 60 had a death wobble issue for a while that I all but fixed by shimming the kingpin. The wobble occurred only at certain speeds, or if I hit a bump/pothole.
At another point in time I had a vibration develop that was a tread separating from one of my tires. It occurred suddenly one day on a long trip, when I stopped to check everything, everything looked fine. When home, or the next day, I noticed a bulge in the tread of one of the tires. I didn't have time to swap it out for a few days, then noticed I didn't have a matching size tire, so had to drive on it for like a week. Then on the way to my cousin's wedding, while speeding on the highway, a big chunk of the tread let loose. I was damn lucky the tire didn't blow and cause an accident or worse.
