rear axle interchangeability
Have a 2006 f150 xlt, 4wd, 388 gear ratio, towing package. Truck only has 50,000 miles. Inside of differential housing worn badly. Oil always full. What year truck or van rear ends should be a direct swap, if ratios match? How many miles on rear end before I shouldn't consider swap worthwhile? What is least I can probably get away with paying. anyone know of good deal near Virginia? Any reason to think Ford should cover this as a faulty part? Thanks, Reed
