Rear axle swap.
Hello,
I am thinking about swapping my rear axle out, I have a '57 F-100. I want to change my gear ratio, so I have located a 3.00 rear in a 70's E100. Will there be complications with this swap? Can anyone tell me how many splines are in the 57? 28 or 31? Any info would be appricaited.

Rear axle swap.
57 was 28 spline.
If you can get the ID tag info on the other I can tell you how many splines. Those year Econolines used both, even in the same year.
The swap is a plug in otherwise.
