hey guys...
after installing the van turbo and felpro gaskets last wed nite, i put about 200+/- on the truck and as muekster suggested check the up pipe bolts. i was able to get about 3/4 turn on all 4 top bolts. i checked for boost leaks with a homemade tester and fixed the couple leaks. before tonite i thought the truck ran great...after the tightening and fixing leaks...the truck runs AWESOME
the turbo does take a little while to get up to psi, but once its there, it pulls like crazy. but even at the low rpms with 1 or 2 psi of boost cruising, the truck still has gobs of power. so glad i did this mod...only regret(of sorts) is that i couldnt afford the bellowed up pipes. im just going to keep checking the bolts every so often and make sure they are tight. anyone know how tight to take the bolts? dont want them to break or strip out
thanks a lot..
another quick update...redid the collector because wasnt to my liking...im not sure you understood about the lag. i wouldnt call it lag, but i would say when you want boost, its there. cruising at 55-60 boost is 1-2psi, but when i want power, its still there. i dont like the word "lag" to describe this. anyone thinking of a van turbo...DO IT..and thank me later

Glad to see that you've joined the van turbo club and are happy about it.
