Gooseneck flatbed

Hello

I wish to build a flat-deck gooseneck trailer and was wondering if any of you who might have one would be prepared to help me with this project.

I'm after photos of the trailer deck, the gooseneck area and the mounting that is fitted into the tow vehicle to hold the ball.

If you can help please mail the pics to me at mapleleavesfan(No Email Addresses In Posts!).au

6MB is this email's limit so I'll check it often to keep it free.

Thanks in advance!

Ozeffie

Just curious why you want to build one? I asked my friend to build me one, he builds horse trailers, alot of them. He sent me out to buy one from a compeditor because they are cheaper than he can build them for with no profit.

Those big tex trailers are just a about 3500 if you get a good deal your costs to build one are

2 7.5 K axles with brakes, 1000
4 16 inch wheels and tires 400
GN hitch 200

totals at 1600 parts (wholesale)

plus steel and lumber and your time

oh yeah, not to mention the fact that it always takes several tries to get just the perfect design

just a thought...

G'day house

The greeting should give me away - I'm in Australia, where goosenecks are known and occassionally seen, but ludicrously expensive.

It can even be hard to get one of the very few manufacturers to build one unless they have done one exactly the same as what you want in the past or can copy another. Litigation is their main concern with regard to stepping outside the square.

I am after some very specific requirements for my trailer as far as what I plan to do with it and as soon as you start talking custom stuff the prices just go berserk, IF the maker is interested at all...

Hence the reason I am intending to build one myself. I just need a start point for the design, which is why I came here - its the best place I know of to get info!

Regards
