If what you received was a stock replacement socket, then no, an 1157 will not fit in it. You have to replace the socket with a larger one made for the dual filament 1157 bulb.

I have a 52 & the park lamp housings were shot...so I bought new assemblies from Sacramento Vintage....the units for the 48-50 with sockets for a two filiment bulb are $16.00. What you get depends on whether you have an early 50 or a late 50. The parts for the later model are $90 for a pair.
If my housings had been better I would've used the Napa sockets.

You can get those sockets at the NAPA on academy and austin bluffs. Ask for Dusty, he's the assistant manager there. He's a member of the Stockers Car Club, as am I. We'll have a show/cruise saturday night, 8/20, at the Garden of the Gods visitor center. 4:00 until 8:00. Free to attend and participate. Find me at the blue awning in the middle of the lot, near my white F1. I'll have a white shirt with my name on it. -Rusty
