Steering

Has anyone tried rebuilding a steering gear box? My '48 is getting woobly and I would like to keep it as stock as possible. I don't want to put in a later unit past 51 or 52.

Try searching this forum for "sector shaft" or "worm gear". There are a couple of pretty good posts that describe the process in some detail.
