Markings on Trans?

Markings on Trans?
I know that an aod has a 14 bolt pan but what do the numbers stamped on the bell housing mean? my 93 f150 4wd 302 with an aod has a "26" if i remember correctly, stamped on top. It went out and so i found one but the guy cant tell me what it is exactly cause hes not sure but its for a 4wd off a 302 but he said it has a "58" stamped on top... does this make any difference in them? like the plugs or neutral safety switch maybe?

All auto trannys have this stamped number on them.
The C6 in my motorhome has "1" stamped on it, and the C6 in my F150 has "26" stamped on it to.
Doesn't really mean anything. It's some kind of series number, I forgot what it's for exactly.
And those of you wondering, were talking about these numbers on the bell housing.

Yeap thats it, thanks for the reply. I guess i will go ahead and pick it up for a few bucks and try it. I think everything will work cause i had a 96 bronco that was pieced together with parts from 88 to 94 when i bought it haha, except for stock 96 engine.
