I know I have at least one sleeve leaking as I have fuel in the coolant . Okay so I finally ran a cylinder contribution test on it today and it showed fault in number 3 cylinder . Would you think that the sleeve that is leaking ??? Would this test work for diagnosing ? All the injectors pass buzz test .
What CPS do you have in? The gray's have caused some people to get weird CCT results for 3 and 8.
Do you intend on just replacing one cup? Why wouldn't you go ahead and do them all? Riffraff Diesel: Motorcraft 7.3L Injector Cup Kit
Well money is one reason not to replace all right now. just looking to fix it quick and cheap. truck runs fine but for the fuel in the reservoir ....GRRRR... as for the cps I would have to look and see. And I just remembered GRRR stupid me I did see green coolant leaking our of one of the injectors on that side when I replaced the injectors a few months ago . i bet it was number 3 cause it was on that side I saw that .. Grrrrrrr.. hopefully next weekend I will have this fixed . just have to get the cups. . but was figuring maybe that may be the reason it failed that cylinder cause it loosing fuel pressure due to leaking in to the coolant .
There are alot of factors that will cause CCT failures, it would be tough to pinpoint with AE or other diagnostics, as it is only checking for a change in velocity. Only true way to tell would be to remove the injectors and pressurize the coolant system to see which leaked.
ya going to do that next weekend . no time this weekend.. got my daughter Sweet 16 Party Saturday so as you know im broke this week...might just have to do one side a week..lol
