Lund windshield visor

As some of you know already, I'm stripping a donor truck of some accessories I'd like to install on my truck...one of them is the Lund Visor.

When the donor truck came to me, the visor was missing the screw covers.

I've looked on Lund's site, and can't seem to locate replacements.

Anyone have any idea where i can locate some?

Thanks

I put one on my truck without the hardware kit. I just used stainless bolts and it looks fine. I'll snap some photos when I get a chance.

Do you have a link to that kit?

Roll by the local aftermarket Harley shop, ask them for some Hot Toppers. Or you can order them direct here---->>> http://www.hottoppers.com/individual.asp

3rd time's a charm...it's the visor above the windshield that is mounted to the top of the truck.

Thanks!! I have Gattos right up the road, just 2 blocks away. I'll give them a call and see if they carry them.

I took mine off as it was leaking badly into the cab. Mine was attached with 5/16" screwbolts, 3/8" hex heads with some plastic caps on top. I would not go that route. You will have better luck with a nut-sert or I imagine some aluminum lock rivets, or hucks, would be even better. We use those on some brands of pre-engineered metal buildings as the only exposed fastener on the ridge cap and gutter systems. They're kind of like a blind rivet, except they have a rubber washer and will keep out water for a good long while.

The ONLY time a Visor will leak is when the screws are loose or not enough sealant is used

I fully understand that brad, but with the constant wind movement the screwbolt-style screws will inevitably back out a tiny bit and let in some water.

I have over 1 million miles on the trucks I currently own without a single water leak from a visor. The silicon acts like a thread lock and sealer. He my one truck has over 300k on it(visor installed 2 weeks after it was bought in 1986) and still is dry as a bone

If you are concerned with the screws backing out, perhaps you should try a nut insert and bolt the visor on.
