I sure like that screen name....
If you buy the gauge pods from Clay at RiffRaff, you can get it pre painted.

Mine came unpainted however that is how I ordered because I had a can of the paint. You can request it painted for a nominal fee I think

My wife has the overhead console and a quad pod in her excursion. Works fine.

If you use good quality velcro you will not have issues. Mine has been installed for years without issue.

Empty it will run 170* or so when its hot out, pulling I have seen 220* or so. I am waiting right now for a ride to my truck. Once I get there I will peak recall the temp, I just pulled my trailer from Santa Fe to Colorado Springs a few weeks ago and I know it got hot!

Thats on par with with the temps I'm seeing empty.
I'll compare your peak with what I see pulling my camper back to FL in two weeks.

All you guys with the overhead pods mounted on the windshield, how did you get them to stay attached?

Nothing I've been able to use will keep my pod attached on my Ex.

When I had the windshield replaced, I even had the company use their glue on the velcro but it still won't stick to the windshield.

Install the velcro on a hot day and use the mirror to wedge the pod into the headliner is what I did

I have been kicking around the idea of the windshield mount gauges. But seeing that some have had bad luck getting to stay just wondering if that still holds true.

Is it worth buying?? Or has anyone had any luck with a mod or trick that holds it in place?

I have taken a year to get around to it.
