Try using the search to look for threads on exhaust. There are at least 83957463.

Firstly. Welcome to FTE

I think most of the people here are against Flowmaster 40's. They tend to drone at cruising speeds. Also depends on how loud you want it, and if you're keeping the cats or not.

and I'll be the first to ask. Can we see some truck pics?

I love the Super 44's. I had em on my 78 and now have em on my Bronco. I don't drive long distances in it so droning isnt an issue for me, but man do they sound nice.

Iʻm with Edge on this, Living on a island I donʻt have long drives, so the 40 series that I run is a non issue.

Gettting any type of headers is a must and getting rid of the stock cats is a good idea.

I currently still have my stock cats, but I plan to use a high flow cat real soon.

yeah i recently cut off one of my cats and welded a thrush glasspack on it to a side pipe cause i was runnin just off the 2 cats it helped alot n dont sound horrible but my manifold is cracked so im gonna put hooker long tube headers on it but i just dont know what mufflers i want to put on it and ive also heard that if you do straight pipes to mufflers you can blow up your motor? is that true?

I'm not sure about the mufflers and their sound but you won't blow up your motor by changing the exhaust. However, if you rat bag your truck you can blow up the motor and I suspect that's what did it for those who really liked the sound of their mods to the exhaust. They simply couldn't keep their right foot out of the gas!

yeah when i heard bout it i didnt think it was true cause it just dont make sense but i was gonna do a cherry bomb extreme muffler until i heard the flowmaster 40s and they sound really good, i dont do alot of long drives either so i dont think droning will be a big deal.

Magnaflow. But like already said there are millions of exhaust threads with plenty of info. So search to get more info. Or get on youtube and see what YOU like. Everyone is different.

Not true that you will blow the motor with straight pipes. I ran open longtubes on my 86 and 6 months just fine.

I like Magnaflow without cats or maybe a single high flow cat.

Dynomax Ultraflo sounds awesome with no cats and good with cats.

Flowmaster sounds like a hollow tin can. If you have to go with this brand, get Super 40.
