Spedometer off?

Spedometer off?
My spedo reads aprox 5 mph higher than I am going I have 285 tires bigger than stock size. Normally wouldn't it read slower not faster? Has been this way since I got it. Any way to fix this? Thanks!

So 5 MPH all the time or 5 MPH off at a certain speed? Different causes for each.
The speedometer can be corrected in the ABS (antilock brake) module or by using a piggyback module like a superlift tru-speed.

Do you have or know anybody in your area with AE? It can be used to correct it.

this is just a WAG but if your truck had the lift on it when you bought it I bet it had bigger tires at one time and the spedo was corrected for those bigger tires.
This could be corrected with AE or at the dealer if it is the case.

how did you verify vehicle speed? GPS, mile marker....that game the local police department puts up on the trailer?
5 MPH off would be about right if your truck is calibrated for 35's and you have 33's

Sorry, I have not installed either. You will have to open the links I posted and check the instructions.
Typically both are mounted inside the cab. Under the dash I would think.
