Can anyone tell me where the autolamp sensor is located. Is it the sensor on the left side of the rearview mirror (facing driver), on the back of the mirror or somewhere on the dash? I recently had my windshield replaced and think I may have a loose connection or something is obstruction the light. When in auto mode, my headlights remain. Can the sensitivity be adjusted or reset?
If you ahve an electrodimming rear mirror, it has its own sensor located in the back of the mirror but I dont think this is part of the autolamp system. If you take a seat in the drivers seat, turn your head as if to look at the rear view mirror but instead look at the top of the dash, is there an oval plastic panel that stretches to the far side of the instrument panel? This is the relay pack facia panel and at the edge closest to you may find that it is louvered or vented. In 1999 the sunsahde and autolamp sensors are located beneath these louvers/vents and I suspect that the same should be true for 2000. The sensor in the The panel is held in place by spring clips but I have only seen one removed and have not actually take one off myself so I cant tell you how to go about removing it and I am afraid that my '99 Ford Service CD is not very specific about it either!
Can anyone tell me how to override the "auto-on" feature with the doors open?
I have a 2000 EB EXP 4x4 and with any door open ((I use for work and am in and out the time and like to leave the rear window up). With 13 or some odd lights on while the door/window is open, there's some serious juice flowing. Do this four or five times a day and your battery really gets worked.
The lights stay on supposedly for 45-minutes. An Astro van I had for work had a interio light override switch on the console, this would be a good idea for future ford trucks, but is a moot issue here. What can I do?
