nope everything is straight and has been keep inside for the past ten years. i have know the guy for a long time and he is finally letting it go. not like i need a hood but you never know whats going to happen.
well you win some and lose some but you don't see to many original parts up here because most rust away or people don't realize what they have and sell them for scrap.
I think you did ok it all depends where you live. I had to pay $50 for a good one here and really who cares if it was $150 its still better than a reproduction.
I wouldn't give anything for a '73-'77 hood. They don't have the crumple zone cutout in them for a front crash. Get the '78-'79 hood if you are looking for one for a street truck.

I wouldn`t act like the 73-77 hoods are trash. Heck if you wreck one of these trucks in a front end collision of any real force they are pretty much totaled either way. I`d just look for the rust/dent freest hood I can find and get it. As for the people on here saying around $25-$50 for a good hood, all I can say is that around here any hood under $100 is a pos in one area or another.

Where are you located? I'm in Minnesota so I know about rust.
You didn't pay a bad price. I just would have sold you mine cheaper.
My hood will probably go in with the scrap metal too. I find it pretty difficult to sell 73-79 Ford truck body parts around my area. They are usually too expensive to ship. So most of my dent side body parts get cut up and scrapped. I don't have enough room to store them and $.13 a pound is better then nothing.
If it is in good shape without any dings and dents and it will fit something you plan on building then yeah id say you got a darn good deal because its an ORIGINAL that doesnt need any work. but hey thats just my $.02
well im up in northeast Pa. Its a 78-79 hood and it has the original ford letters on it. i really didn't need it but hey i could always us extra parts.
I've given some to buddies and sold others from $50-75 so yeah, you did alright.
And since Mark knocked the 73-77 hoods I'll knock ALL of um and say forget stock, just go with an Autofab drop center hood. Sure it's fiberglass and doesn't have a "crumple" zone, but with the bumpers I put on my trucks only the things I hit will be crumpling...
