Bypass filter
I am in the process of putting together my bypass filter set-up and was wondering if it would be acceptable to use a fuel filter for this set-up. Fuel filters seem to have a better micron rating. I was thinking of the donaldson p551311.

I don't think I would use a fuel filter to filter oil. You want something that passes the oil through it slowly to achieve the finest filtration.

Springerbob's set up is one of the better ones. I myself run the donaldson ELF7405 which has a bypass built into the filter and bumps total oil capacity up to 16 quarts even.

But at 25 bucks a pop, really isn't too bad on wallet.
